Tutorial 01: Introduction to OceanRemote Platform

What is OceanRemote?

OceanRemote is an industrial-grade IoT platform that allows you to remotely control and monitor ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico W, and other microcontroller boards from anywhere in the world.

Key Features

  • Remote Control - Control relays, LEDs, and devices from any internet connection
  • Real-time Monitoring - View temperature, humidity, and sensor data instantly
  • Multi-Board Support - Works with ESP8266, ESP32, Pico W, Raspberry Pi 4/Zero 2W
  • No Port Forwarding - Devices connect outbound to our secure servers
  • Custom Relay Names - Name your relays (e.g., "Living Room Light", "Water Pump")
  • Sensor Support - DHT22, DS18B20, and NTC thermistors
  • Temperature Calibration - Adjust readings with offset values
  • Secure & Private - Each device is linked to your account only
💡 How It Works:

Your device connects to your WiFi and polls our server every few seconds. When you click a button in the dashboard, the server stores the command, and your device picks it up on its next poll.

Supported Boards

  • ESP8266 D1 Mini - Compact, 16 GPIO, 5V/3.3V
  • ESP8266 D1 Large - More GPIO, breadboard friendly
  • ESP32 - 34 GPIO, Dual Core, Bluetooth LE
  • Raspberry Pi Pico W - 26 GPIO, WiFi + Bluetooth
  • Raspberry Pi 4 / Zero 2W (Coming Soon) - 40 GPIO, Quad Core / Compact
